Dear Whitney,
Most of what I tell you isn't meant to change anything, but I do hope you take comfort from these words. You are lonely and that sucks. Don't worry, your loneliness ends. Keep looking to God to fill your loneliness. You will have your heart broken a couple times, but staying "old fashioned" probably does minimize the pain. Just know that waiting patiently will bring you to someone you can love and trust more than you've ever known. You will be really happy!
And yes, you will live to see your wedding day. Not long and you'll be done with hospitalizations until you're having babies. :-) Think of those happy times to come and endure.
*Read Little Women and other classics aloud to Gramma Swenson every chance you get.
*Dance with Chisum at your wedding.
*And get a picture of you with your brother and cousins Lance and Brandt. Cherish it, because Lance won't be around long.
Not much else to say. Keep loving and trusting God and you'll do alright.
